State & National Fields

Under construction

Australian Miniature Aerosports State and National Fields.

The AMAS Inc enjoys a diverse national demographic of aeromodellers! From the Northern Territory to Tasmania, From Western Australia across to the eastern sea board, modellers enjoy their hobby of building and flying miniature aircraft!
The society is an ever expanding association and always seeks to be approachable, inclusive and progressive. In being so, the membership within the 'open fields' ethos has access to state and national fields where these facilities allow for fostering flying together and furthering the enjoyment of this hobby we call aeromodelling!

Australian Miniature Aerosports National Field.

The national field is located at Grenfell New South Wales.

The club has facilities perfect for the operation of RC aircraft, control line, gliders, helicopters and smaller jets.

We have at present a 140m main strip and cross strip and there's  separate camping and car park adjacent to the setup areas.

The club is currently in the process of doing a new plan layout offering a toilet and shower block, a canteen and BBQ facilities.

The facility also has a large shelter for use as an undercover seating or assembly area, near to the pits area.

We believe our facilities would suit many flying events or organised fun fly weekends and is accessible to all AMAS Inc members. We offer a tranquil country field with nothing to hit but the skies.

We are sure that all would enjoy flying here as we do!

Australian Miniature Aerosports North Queensland Field.

The North Queensland state field is located at Bluewater Airport Townsville .
The club boasts facilities perfect for the operation of, RC aircraft, gliders, helicopters and
drones.
We have an artificial grass runway 110m long by 12m wide with options to use smooth grass
or asphalt. Also there is ample space for caravans and camping with toilet and hot shower
facilities. There is also a large area under shade cloth which is used for our pits area. The
flying area is clear of obstacles for 800m either side of the pilots box.
Our location is controlled under a CASA Instrument Area Approval with approval to fly to
1000ft & FPV.
The facilities can and have been used to run major flying events or just plain fun flying and would be
accessible to any AMAS member. I'm sure that a lot of AMAS members have seen photos of
our facilities and would enjoy flying here.
